Week #2

Happy Hump Day, BillionGravers! Why is today so great? Is it because the work week’s half over? Or because today we come out with our second clue for the BillionGraves Golden Egg Contest?! I hope it’s the latter because we’ve got a good clue for you today.

First off, we had AMAZING participation in our first week of the Egg Hunt. We had 17 Egg submissions from all over the world. Thanks for helping us kick off this promotion with a bang! Now, get ready for another week of Egg hunting!

Here’s today’s clue:

On this day (April 9), NASA introduced the United States’ first astronauts to the world. These old test pilots would participate in Project Mercury, America’s first manned spaceflight program. Known as the “Mercury Seven”, these men were Scott Carpenter, Gordon Cooper, John Glenn, Gus Grissom, Wally Schirra, Alan Shepard and Deke Slayton. This program was pivotal in the Space Race, as it helped prove technology, develop new and innovative systems, and provide crucial information and experience that would lead man to the moon by the end of the 60’s.

 

 

The clue: What was the date (day, month and year) that NASA introduced the Mercury Seven astronaut team to the world?

  • Take a picture and upload it to BillionGraves through the mobile application
  • Copy and paste the URL into the comments section of this Blog post.
